By now you’ve heard that the politically correct Marxists at ABC canceled Roseanne Barr’s successful reboot of her 1990s hit show Roseanne, after she tweeted in bad taste at former President Obama’s close adviser Valerie Jarrett.
There’s no point in reprinting the offending tweet here because it’s widely available online for anyone to find. Perpetuating it in this space serves no useful purpose.
For her part, Barr has apologized for the tweet and even went so far as to admit that she was under the influence of sleep aid Ambien when she tweeted to Jarrett and others.
In addition, according to The Gateway Pundit, Barr explained that she believed Jarrett was Saudi, not black — not that it makes any difference.
Irrespective, a racially twinged joke in this day and age just isn’t going to be tolerated by the PC Police and Left-wing speech Nazis who will defend whatever they say to the bitter end, even if it’s just as bad or worse than what they have judged to be inappropriate.
Which brings us back to Barr, ABC, and the nexus of liberal hypocrisy: How is it that Barr gets canned by her network but other ABC “stars” can say similarly offensive and untrue things but get away with it?
Could it be because Barr has an affinity for President Donald Trump and the others don’t?
Yes, that’s likely it. (Related: ABC News worries about perception of all Muslims after fake hate hoax, instead of spreading facts)
— In April. late-night “comedian” Jimmy Kimmel stepped in deep doo-doo with the LGBTQ community for sending homophobic tweets during a feud with Fox News host Sean Hannity that read, “Don’t worry – just keep tweeting – you’ll get back on top! (or does Trump prefer you on bottom?) Either way, keep your chin up big fella..XO”

His network is ABC. The response? Crickets.
This comes despite the fact that Kimmel’s viewership has declined since he became the epicenter of late-night non-stop Trump hate — and he has no problem with it. In another time, regardless of political preference, network executives would have had a cow if one of their stars said something to the effect of, “I know my political stance is hurting viewership and thus advertising revenue but I don’t care and I’m not going to stop.”
That’s the measure of Trump hate these days.
— Joy Behar of The View has actually likened the president to Adolph Hitler. As reported by the Jerusalem Post during the 2016 campaign, Behar brought up a segment by comedian John Oliver, who said that Trump’s family name was once known in German as “Drumpf.”
“His real name is Drumpf, like Mein Drumpf,” she said, referencing Hitler’s autobiography, Mein Kampf.
Others on the program have regularly scare-mongered their audience into believing that Trump is actually going to impose a fascist dictatorship — despite the fact that, at least for now, the 2018 and 2020 elections are still on. And, anyway, haven’t the Democrats been predicting a “blue wave” Republican wipe-out?
ABC execs put up with these shenanigans and outrageous comparisons of Trump to one of the most notoriously evil men ever to exist and rule a country.
— Earlier this year, Behar also said that Trump was “in bed” with the countries protecting terrorists who were responsible for the 9/11 attacks and that the nation’s LGBTQ community is “on the verge” of being stoned to death in American streets.
She was referencing the Saudis, but of course, the Obama administration also had favorable relations with the Saudi government. Yet that’s different.
The message ABC is sending loud and clear is a familiar one from the Pravda media: Trump hate in any way, shape, or form is okay but if you attack one of us, you’re gone.
