Membership platform Patreon, which provides users a means of running a content service for subscribers, has kicked off several conservative, pro-America accounts for alleged violations of “community guidelines,” but has not taken similar action against users advocating violence and “insurrection.”
An analysis by Far Left Watch, a group that monitors Leftist behavior and violence, found that Patreon accounts for Milo Yiannopoulos, Carl Benjamin (Sargon of Akkad), and James Allsup have all been terminated. However, the site noted, groups that are openly advocating violence and anti-government action remain free to operate.
Of the three who have been deplatformed, Far Left Watch noted in a post, “all have different belief systems and principals and have been vocal critics of each other but their common denominator is a very vocal critique of the far-left and their creeping authoritarianism.”
If, in fact, right-leaning users are in violation of the platform’s community standards, then all should be well in terms of being removed. But as is the case with most of the other social media behemoths, Left-wing content providers tend to be ignored by content reviewers and left to post whatever they like.
The analysis by Far Left Watch noted:
There are several far-left users who appear to be blatantly violating Pareon’s Community Guidelines. These users are raising thousands of dollars each month and are actively using that money to organize and advocate for violent and often illegal criminal activity.
One of the users is Revolutionary Left Radio which has 700 Patrons who donate monthly to the program, which is hosted by Brett Anderson, a.k.a. “Breht Oshea.”
“Brett has a criminal record and is a vocal proponent of armed confrontation with the state and with people who he calls ‘reactionaries’ (i.e. people who oppose Communism),” Far Left Watch notes. Anderson was one of about a dozen people arrested in March 2017 during a counter-protest of a rally in support of POTUS Donald Trump in Omaha, Neb. He is also a vocal backer of violent confrontation with the state. (Related: Dear President Trump: It’s time to declare violent left-wing mobs to be domestic terrorists.)
As PJ Media notes, the podcast claims to discuss “political philosophy, current events, activism, and the inevitable historical downfall of capitalism from a revolutionary leftist perspective.” But it’s founder pushes for an “armed and militant” “working class.”
I like my working class like I like my antifascism: armed and militant.

Other tweets, some of which have been deleted after being archived, contain quotes from notable Marxist and Communist figures such as China’s Mao Zedong. “A revolution is an insurrection, an act of violence by which one class overthrows another,” is one quote posted by Revolutionary Left Radio.
Another podcast called “The Guillotine” which has more than 350 patrons is also hosted by Anderson and another person who goes by the name of “Dr. Bones,” the latter a self-described “Egoist-Communist, Insurrectionist, and an illegalist.”
During a May 14 podcast, Anderson claimed he wasn’t advocating violence but then described ‘hypothetical’ situations in which violence — murder — should be used.
“Insofar as we don’t have the powers on the left to straight-up attack the state or straight-up attack the right in a violent armed struggle … there are other forms of political violence that have worked throughout history,” he said, noting that two things which he believes have worked in the past “are assassinations and property destruction.”
“If, for some hypothetical or theoretical reason, a leftist sees a prominent fascist and says, ‘This guy needs to be taken out’ — whatever — you assassinate this person in whatever way — cutting his brakes, shooting him, etc., whatever,” he said.
“It doesn’t take a strong, huge armed force to go out and carry out attacks on property of, let’s say, capitalists who mistreat their workers, but a yacht sinking in a harbor with a note left behind that says, ‘you treat the workers this way, or we’re out here, we’re organized, and we’re not gonna take it,’” he added.
Community guidelines on Patreon specifically state there “is no room…for hate speech such as calling for violence, exclusion, or segregation.”
“You cannot post content that advocates, threatens, or shows you causing harm to yourself or other people,” the guidelines note further.
